Privacy Policy for Mahjong Lantern

The short version

Mahjong Lantern has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics of its own. Your games and statistics never leave your device. The one exception is advertising, which is served by Google AdMob and is described below.

Data stored on your device

Your statistics, your settings, and any game in progress are saved in local storage on your device. We cannot read it, it is not backed up to us, and deleting the app deletes it.

Advertising

Mahjong Lantern shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. To do that, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect your device's advertising identifier and information about how you interact with the app and its ads. That data goes to Google, not to us, and it is used for advertising, including ads tailored to you, and for measuring how ads perform. Google's handling of it is covered by the Google Privacy & Terms.

Under Apple's definitions this counts as tracking, which is why the app declares it and asks your permission first.

Your choices

• On first launch the app asks whether it may track you. Decline and you still see ads, they are just less relevant. The game itself is exactly the same either way.
• You can change that later in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, then Tracking.
• In regions that require it, a consent form appears before any ad loads, and declining means no ad requests are made at all.
• Watching a video for "Show a match" is always optional. Every board can be finished without it.

Playing offline

Boards are dealt on your device, so the game works with no connection. Only the ads need one.

Children's privacy

Mahjong Lantern is a general-audience game. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Purchases

There are none. Mahjong Lantern has no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
